Drums4Health for Schools

Drums4Health is an innovative rhythm and movement programme that helps transform children’s relationship with physical activity.

At a time when many schools are facing challenges around physical inactivity, low confidence in sport, reduced movement opportunities and declining physical literacy, Drums4Health offers a fresh, inclusive and non-competitive way for pupils to move, connect and engage.

Using specially designed fitness drums, pupils take part in energetic sessions that combine rhythm, music, coordination and physical activity. The experience feels more like a shared musical event than traditional PE, helping children of all abilities feel included, motivated and successful.

Sessions can be delivered seated or standing and adapted for different ages, abilities and needs, making Drums4Health suitable for mainstream schools, SEND settings, wellbeing interventions, enrichment days and staff wellbeing.

Drums4Health also offers onsite training for schools, enabling staff to embed this unique and innovative activity into their PE, wellbeing and wider school offer. This helps schools increase movement opportunities across the week, build staff confidence and create a sustainable approach that supports both pupils and staff.

By combining rhythm, movement and connection, Drums4Health gives schools a powerful new way to support physical literacy, emotional wellbeing, confidence and inclusion.

Testimonials
Drums4Health visited us in April 2026 and provided a day of joyful movement for our Year 5 cohort and for some of our children with additional needs. The sessions were wonderful and provided our children with an opportunity to experiment with rhythm, beat and exercise at the same time! Tamsin was friendly and fun and was also able to inform the children on all the benefits of drumming and how it synchronises both hemispheres of the brain. The feedback from the children and staff was so positive and we would recommend Drums4Health to everyone! I Critchlow, SENDCO

Theo absolutely loved it and spent quite a bit of time joining in with it. It was amazing and I think it would be absolutely amazing for this to be a regular thing especially for some of our children. TA support, Downs Syndrome student

The connection between music and physical movement has been know for centuries, but to connect them together into an educationally viable package that stimulates both creativity and energy in a positive, engaging way – how amazing?! To connect mind and body together through music and have the children discover – through fun and enjoyment – the focus they can attain is priceless. Drums4Health is highly recommended and we can’t wait to get them back in! Kingsley Clennel-White, Primary Arts Leader, Ted Wragg Trust.
