About: Coombs is now an independent trading division of RJ Barwick Ltd. Prior to joining Barwick in 2021, Coombs traded as a successful general building contractor for over 50 years. ‘New’ Coombs provides both planned and routine maintenance, energy efficiency works and whole building retrofit across Kent. We support our customers on their path to net zero, from conception to completion, by offering a one-stop-shop service.

Planned and routine maintenance

You can trust Coombs to look after your building maintenance needs. We are proactive in our
approach, always looking for solutions that best match the needs of our customers.
The maintenance service sits perfectly alongside retrofit. For example, a building needs to be well
maintained and completely free of condensation, moisture and damp before any retrofit works can begin. It is also important to maintain a building after energy efficiency measures, to ensure best performance.
Further maintenance considerations apply where a building is deemed to be a ‘heritage
asset’. There is usually a history of different uses, alterations and additions, each with their own
materials, heat demand, air movement and thermal characteristics.
