About: Our School Mission - Closing the student disadvantage gap

The disparity between advantaged and disadvantaged students is not decreasing. According to The Sutton Trust, disadvantaged GCSE students can lag behind their advantaged counterparts by as much as 18 months in recent years. The pandemic has only worsened this situation due to lost learning time. The impact of this gap on students includes heightened stress and anxiety, as well as diminished life opportunities.

Many schools and parents cannot afford to keep up tutoring sessions for struggling students, and with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) also coming to an end, there is a need for an alternative to private tuition.

We believe all secondary school students should have access to tutoring outside of school, regardless of their background or circumstances. The concept of GCSE Catch Up is to provide students with lessons by expert tutors without the financial burden of paying for a private tutor.
