Services: Educational role play workshops

Regions: UK wide

About: Pop Up Play Village works regularly in schools and early years settings using our curriculum planning which ties in with the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 curriculum. We provide an educational visit where our role play village can support the teaching of EYFS, KS1 and KS2 children purely through role play.

The unique, open plan design of our role play village is essential in order to provide open ended learning opportunities for children. Children can see everything that is available for them to explore which enables them to make connections between one play area and another creating a high quality play experience. Imagination has no limits! It also enables our play areas to be large so that children can play, socialise and learn together and adults can play too.

A Pop Up Play Village school visit is a fully inclusive and interactive workshop which is tailored to the needs of the group of children that we are working with. A great way for children to learn in a fun and purposeful way.

Testimonials:

We were thrilled to have Pop-Up Play Village visit Saint Aidan's Primary School for the second time, and once again, the children absolutely loved it! The role play areas were a hit, with exciting setups like a vet’s office, doctor’s clinic, shop, fire station, and police station, providing endless opportunities for imaginative play. The resources provided were fantastic, keeping all the children fully engaged throughout the entire morning session. Kelly was wonderful with the children, guiding them through the different areas and making sure everyone had a chance to participate. She even wrapped up the session with a lovely story that the children adored. This experience was a perfect way to kick off our new topic and get the kids excited about learning in such a fun and interactive way. We can’t wait to have them back again.

Becky has spent 3 days with us, sharing her expertise and modelling use of the Pop-Up play Village to children and teachers from FS1 through to Year 2. Without exception, the children and adults have loved it. It has been wonderful to walk into the school hall and see every child and adult happily engaged in imaginative play and talk - oracy everywhere! Becky has supported teachers in engaging with the play, developing language and vocabulary and enhancing imagination. The 'real world-ness' of her resources means that children are able to participate in scenarios with a familiar context, to make sense of their world and to begin to express feelings and emotions.
Becky's planning is rigorous in its detail and absolutely fool-proof. It is accessible in language and layout and there is nothing she hasn't thought of. The accompaniment of training videos means that set-up is easy and no question is left unanswered. The different variations of planning, including wellbeing planning, means that Pop-Up Play can be a discrete enhancement of the curriculum or integrally woven into different themes and subjects. The wellbeing planning acknowledges some of the challenges faced by children in today's world and supports them in rehearsing experiences, safely expressing feelings, regulating emotion and developing self-esteem. We are hugely excited to offer Pop-Up Play as part of our curriculum and look forward to seeing the fun, creativity and personal growth it brings to our children.
