About: In a world facing unprecedented challenges, Snowflake Education empowers students and educators to rise to the occasion by embedding sustainable development into the heart of education. The company was founded in 2016 by Dr Jon-Erik Dahlin, at the time a lecturer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and currently a Reader in Engineering Education at King’s College London. Snowflake Education was born from a vision to integrate sustainability into every aspect of learning.

Services offered
1) Dilemma: educational board game for teaching an introduction to sustainable development, with elements of critical thinking and values thinking at the core of the game dynamics.
2) FishBanks: educational simulation game for teaching sustainability concepts such as ecosystem services, the tragedy of the commons, renewable resources – with a special attention to systems thinking and negotiation skills training.
3) ClimeOut: educational board game for teaching about Earth’s climate and climate change; it provides a necessary background that all students should get to understand the basics about Earth’s climate
4) In the Loop: educational board game for teaching about lifecycle thinking, responsible production and consumption, critical materials, and circular economy. It can be used as a basis for further discussion into any of these sub-topics – or just a high-level introduction to sustainability and products and materials.
5) Online learning environment: out digital learning material includes many hours of video lectures on various perspectives of sustainability, reflection exercises, and student assignments. The learning material can be used as a stand-alone self-study material; to form the basis of classroom teaching; or in association with the board games. When you acquire any of the board games, a sub-set of the digital material is also included in the purchase.
6) Teacher training: we offer a range of teacher training courses that can assist you in developing a sustainability angle in your teaching; the courses take you all the way from theory and pedagogical principles in education for sustainability, to practical exercises that you can do with your own students, in your classroom.
