About:
Here at Solarlec we offer Schools/ Academies and the public sector a complete range of solutions for solar PV & Bio-mass installations coupled with compliant funding options which include fully funded systems that are cash neutral from the beginning. Through our Operating Lease Solution, we provide a more flexible solar solution than purchasing outright, allowing you to acquire a PV and/ or Biomass system without any large financial impact, as is often the case when opting for grant funding.
Solarlec are now a BPVA Rated Solar Installer and chosen partner of Eco-Schools. "Rated Solar Installer" is the official partner to the "Power To The Pupils" program recently launched by the Department of Energy and Climate Change and Department for Education to bring solar PV to schools throughout the UK. Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.
Solarlec design and install bespoke systems subject to your requirements, that will include a customized display unit and sophisticated web based monitoring equipment. This will enable the system to be used as an interactive learning tool, as well as monitor performance.
A Solar PV installation, coupled with the Feed-in Tariff, offers a reliable new income stream and a simple and cost effective strategy to help reduce CO2 emissions. Schools will benefit from free generated electricity so reducing electricity bills and also gain an income from the government backed Feed in Tariff Scheme for 20 years.
Biomass is, without doubt, the best renewable heating solution available in the UK today. The benefits of Biomass are currently being enjoyed by numerous high-profile organisations, including Schools, Government Departments, Hotels and a wide variety of Commercial businesses and domestic houses. The benefits are simply stunning – and the savings quite remarkable. On top of all that, there are the generous incentives from the Government, through RHI payments.
Energy saving assessment: Each proposal includes a Carbon Trust energy saving assessment as a matter of course. School energy saving assessments will be conducted by Carbon Trust Implementation Services to check as far as reasonably possible that the expected CO2 reduction, and hence financial savings over time, should match or exceed payments.
By uniquely combining Solarlec specialist equipment with Siemens Operating Lease Solution and the expertise of the Carbon Trust, you are not only given the peace of mind that the equipment will deliver the energy savings you expect, but that you have the reassurance of working with partners you can trust.

““I am a firm believer in the need for all of us to adopt sustainable sources of energy wherever possible so the barn roofs at the farm gave me the perfect opportunity to look at PV panels. “Thanks to the advice and expertise of Solarlec, the farm is now producing its own renewable energy and I can practise what I preach!"”
Kate Humble , TV presenter , Springwatch presenter
“We looked into various renewable energy solutions, including wind turbines, as part of on-going efforts to reduce carbon emissions and improve our Energy Certificate Rating. Solar panels were the best fit for several reasons - financially, it’s a no brainer as we’ll receive a regular income for generating our own clean energy. Plus, with no moving parts the panels virtually take care of themselves.””
John Henwood, School Bursar, Westholme School
