About: Travellers Through Time is the creation of multi-talented Carla Phillips. Not only a professionally trained and experienced actor, Carla and has been active in the living history community for 15 years.
Her infectious enthusiasm and passion for history have excited and inspired audiences in museums as diverse as the British Museum, the Britain at War Museum and World Museum Liverpool. If she’s not teaching young and old how to weave, make jewellery and cook as Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Celts did, or directing the construction of Ancient Egyptian model pyramids, Carla might be training kids how to overcome the challenges Ancient Greek warriors faced in a shield wall.
Carla’s triumphed over a few challenges in her own history. She is winning a battle with kidney disease and has survived and thrived from two transplants. She’s a passionate advocate for organ donation charity 'Live Life then Give Life' and presents before professional bodies.
Carla believes the best way to understand history is to live it. It’s no surprise her sport of choice is archery, and uses the ancient English longbow. She might even have held her own at Agincourt, if the gold and silver medals at the British Transplant Games are anything to go by.
What’s next? Travellers Through Time is bringing living history to schools, clubs, museums and anyone who’s ready to be inspired and get hands on with our history
