About:
"I thought history was the most boringest thing and now I want to know more and more" Susie aged 10.
Ufton is an educational center for children and young people run by the Ufton Court Educational Trust, a registered charity established in 2006, which aims to provide an inspirational historical home offering innovative and challenging experiences to young people.
Over 6000 young people visit Ufton Court each year and take part in a wide range of activities. Those studying history have a unique opportunity to live in an Elizabethan House as if it were their own, to explore and discover the house’s secrets and to experience firsthand sixteenth century life.
Ufton Court Adventure is an exciting new woodland center opening at Ufton Court which aims to raise aspirations and achievements of disadvantaged young people through repeated access to outdoor education. The project has been developed by the Ufton Court Educational Trust in partnership with the South Reading community charity Aspire2.
Ufton Court Adventure has already had a profound effect on confidence and independence of participating young people. A teenage boy who has enjoyed three residential visits said that, “It has made me more confident to speak to people,” and that his goals for his GCSE grades have been raised and he enjoys better relationships with his family
