Who are SCOEducation?

SCOEducation is a specialist educational services provider founded in 2024 and directed by Simon Cotton, whose 20-year career spans Headteacher, Local Authority Head of Education and Inclusion, and MAT Director of Education. Working with schools, academy trusts, local authorities and educational charities across England, every service is grounded in evidence-based best practice, and the understanding that how you handle complaints, admissions and attendance  and how you lead your organisation are deeply connected.

Our services:

Complaints handling – Audit of your complaints systems and policies, training for front line staff, leaders and governors in complaints management, complaints investigation, independent final stage panel membership and end to end complaints handling are some of the services we offer.

Leadership and governance training — Training sessions include: Exclusions and suspension for clerks, governors and senior leadership teams.  Being a governor; The point of link governors, COG, SEND or Safeguarding links; Aligning vision, values and school improvement.

Admissions support — Helping schools to address admission challenges , including supporting schools and trusts with PAN consultations.  

School attendance reviews — An external attendance review of school attendance practice assessing – the school’s attendance performance against national benchmarks and Ofsted criteria – identifying strengths and improvement areas, – providing strategic recommendations to enhance attendance outcomes.

MAT/Federation attendance reviews — An external attendance review of all schools within a MAT or federation.  Individual reports for each school.  An overall strategic document, pulling together the key areas for development.
